Winner of the Museums & Heritage Awards for Excellence, 2009: Permanent Exhibition category.

RFA was appointed to design and build new displays for the Stockwood Discovery Centre, Luton. The scheme was part of a £6 million development project that has transformed the current Stockwood Park Museum into Stockwood Discovery Centre.

Using main themes of environment and sustainability, and community and identity, it has harnessed the impressive collections of Luton Museums Service (including the Mossman Collection of horse-drawn vehicles and the Bedfordshire rural life, crafts and rural trades displays), along with the outstanding gardens and listed built elements of the site, for the purposes of exploration and discovery.

RFA worked closely with architects Buttress Fuller Alsop Williams who created a new entrance facility, with adjacent car parking, and improved existing buildings and access on the site.
