Haig Colliery Mining Museum, Kells, Whitehaven: Opens 2012

Appointment to produce detailed interpretive exhibition designs as part of a £4 million scheme to repair and restore a listed museum building, upgrade museum displays and convert currently unused parts of the building into a multi-purpose community facility. (The Grade II listed museum building and pithead gear is one of three Scheduled Ancient Monuments on the headland above Whitehaven harbour.  Haig Colliery, its collections and landscape setting represent a nationally important industrial site, which is at risk of loss).
